David Michael Ibia is a Lagos-based technology founder, software engineer, and engineering leader with over a decade of hands-on experience building and operating digital systems. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Covenant University (2012–2018), a foundation that informs a rigorous, systems-thinking approach to software architecture and infrastructure. His academic achievements were recognized through prestigious NNPC/Total JVA and Agbami Chevron Scholarships, and an Explorer Award for Mobile Application Development in 2016.
Since founding Boxmarshall LLC in 2016, David has held engineering leadership positions across the globe — including Engineering Lead at Monitor Supply Inc (USA), Lead Software Engineer at AlienAIO Inc (Dubai), Software Development Lead at Faces of Web3 (USA), Engineering Lead at Tracksend (Nigeria), and Lead Software Engineer at Bet Slip Technologies LLC (New York). Each role deepened his expertise in product architecture, CI/CD pipelines, team leadership, and scalable software delivery. He currently serves as Lead Technical Specialist at Startery (Delaware, USA) while continuing to lead Boxmarshall.
Beyond his engineering work, David is an active contributor to Africa’s AI ecosystem. He was a featured speaker at the Agentic AI for the African Ecosystem meetup hosted by the MLOps Community and AI Community Africa, where he shared frameworks for building purposeful, production-ready AI systems tailored to the African market — a call to action for African engineers to adopt AI with the right mindset, not just as a trend.
